Dr. Jerome Socolof

Jerome Socolof is a Professor of Arts Management in the Department of Fine and Performing Arts at Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts. Prior to joining MCLA Jerome served as an Assistant Professor of Arts Administration at University of Houston-Downtown and has taught courses for University of Massachusetts-Amherst and University of Houston. Jerome's research work focuses on arts management practices and funding in rural communities, and he is co-author, with Dr. Elise Lael Kieffer, of Rural Arts Management (Routledge, 2024). In addition to teaching and research, he maintains a professional practice as a strategic planning and management consultant for small, rural non-profits. Jerome holds a BM in Music Business from SUNY Potsdam and both an MA in Arts Policy and Administration and a PhD in Art Education with a concentration in Cultural Policy and Administration from The Ohio State University.

Jane Hevezi

Jane has over fifteen years of experience in the non-profit and philanthropic sectors, focusing on community-led change and systemic inequities. She spent 12 years at a leading healthcare foundation in South Texas and now runs her own business aimed at building organizational and community capacity for systemic change.

Her expertise includes cross-sector collaboration, public-private partnerships, sustainability, strategic planning, and complex evaluation. Jane holds a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt and an MPH from The UT School of Public Health. She’s recognized for innovative grantmaking and strategic approaches to community change.

In her free time, Jane promotes voter participation, supports survivors of domestic violence, and enjoys creative writing, cooking with her dad, and spending time outdoors.

Brooke Barron

An associate at Your Part Time Controller, LCC, Brooke specializes in accounting services for nonprofits in the Houston area. 

She holds a BA in Business Administration from California State University, Fullerton, and is a Certified Public Accountant. With 7 years of public accounting experience, she brings experience in financial accounting, advisory, and tax compliance to her clients. Passionate about supporting nonprofit missions, Brooke offers tailored financial solutions to meet their unique needs. 

In her free time, she enjoys creating pottery and exploring the outdoors with her dog.

Angela Hebert

With over 15 years of finance and accounting experience, Angela earned both her bachelor's and MBA in Accounting from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor. 

She has held diverse roles, from clerk to CFO, in corporate, government, and nonprofit sectors. Currently an Associate at Your Part Time Controller (YPTC), Angela specializes in supporting clients with financial analysis, grant funding, and systems improvements. 

She's active in mentoring, the Latinas at YPTC group, and her local community. In her free time, she volunteers at her children's school and supports various nonprofit boards.

Adam Weaver

Adam is a manager at Your Part Time Controller with over 15 years of nonprofit accounting experience. He holds a bachelor's degree in economics from the University of Texas at Austin and is a Certified Public Accountant. Before joining YPTC in 2023, he served as a controller for various nonprofits in Austin. 

His expertise includes federal grant compliance, financial reporting, software implementation, and internal controls. Adam is passionate about helping nonprofits make a meaningful impact on their communities. 

Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife and two kids and is a dedicated college football fan.

Brooke Garcia

For over 20 years, Brooke has been a notable leader in the nonprofit space. In roles ranging from Development Director to Chief Financial Officer to Executive Director, her experience includes successes in partnerships & collaborations, grants management, program development, back-office systems development, volunteer management, fundraising & special events, and professional training. In her current role as Clinical Assistant Professor of Management with the University of Houston Victoria’s College of Business, Brooke is leading classes in both general and nonprofit management. She created and serves as director of the Nonprofit Center at UHV, helping nonprofit organizations with capacity-building through leadership and professional education. Brooke holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English with support work in Communications and an Executive Master of Business Administration from the University of Texas at San Antonio. She is also certified in Nonprofit Management through the University of Texas at San Antonio.
