Nonprofit Support

Fayette Community Foundation provides our rural nonprofits with opportunities for both fiscal and educational support, equipping these organizations to navigate local challenges, collaborate effectively, and maximize their impact. By providing resources, knowledge, and fostering a culture of continuous learning, Fayette Community Foundation empowers our rural nonprofits to address unique circumstances, enhance capabilities, and contribute significantly to the well-being and development of their communities.

Did you know that approximately 20% of the US population resides in rural areas? From 2005 to 2010, rural areas received 6-7% of domestic grants, with an average real value of about $88 per capita in non-metro counties. Interestingly, rural counties receive less than half of the average grants given to organizations in metropolitan counties.

RNNG Overview

The Rural Nonprofit Networking Group (RNNG), a program of the Fayette Community Foundation, facilitates collaboration and peer-learning among our rural nonprofit organizations. RNNG convenes monthly, bringing together an average of 25 nonprofit leaders to share knowledge, and resources, and discuss community needs. Funded by community contributions, these free meetings are open to all nonprofits, regardless of size, staff, or service area. Follow RNNG on Facebook to find out more and be kept up to date on upcoming events.

Professional Development

In rural areas, nonprofit leaders often face unique circumstances and limited resources, making access to knowledge and expertise invaluable. Professional development initiatives enable our nonprofits to enhance their capabilities, stay informed about best practices, and build a network for collaboration. By fostering a culture of continuous learning, FCF’s professional development initiatives strengthen the collective capacity of our rural nonprofits, ensuring they are well-equipped to address community needs, contribute to sustainable development, and ultimately enhance the overall well-being of the community they serve.
